JBL L100 – A new classic is born!
The L100 Classic is a reincarnation of the legendary JBL L100 from 1970, JBL’s best-selling speaker of all time. Almost 50 years later, it’s here in a new and improved version. The classic design has been retained and stands out with the delicious walnut veneer, the angled foot and the characteristic front grill in Quadrex patterned foam.
The technology in the L100 Classic is, however, completely new, and uses many of the experiences that JBL has gained over all the years between these two speakers. This has resulted in improved units, parts filters and construction, making the L100 Classic a classic in every sense of the word.
The new L100 Classic uses a newly developed 1″ titanium tweeter, which is mounted in a waveguide to provide a wider dispersion and integration with the 5″ midrange placed directly below it. To handle the low frequencies, JBL has equipped the L100 Classic with a 12″ bass unit with a moulded chassis and the characteristic white paper cone. The base unit is housed in a cabinet system where the base reflector can be easily adjusted via the front mounted port. To adjust the level of the treble and midrange, the familiar HF and MF transducer arrangements are located at the top of the front baffle.
The L100 Classic is simply an amazingly well performing speaker that with its mighty 12″ bass unit can bring any music to life. The speaker is available with different colours of front grills.
