In 1991, Pro-Ject started a revolution in Hi-Fi with the introduction of the Pro-Ject 1 turntable. A new high-end, low-budget turntable at a time when the CD was king. Against all odds, Pro-ject created interest in analogue sound at a time when others were turning their backs, and its success can be described by 3 philosophies:
– Simple but technically correct design
– high-quality materials
– handmade in EU
There were no fancy, unnecessary features; a strictly manual turntable, these decisions resulted in an incredible sound at a great price. The X1 is based on the same concept as the P1, but improved in every aspect thanks to modern materials and new production methods.
